Indus Arthur is an American film actress who has appeared in a number of films and television shows. She is best known for her roles in the films The Big Lebowski (1998), The Limey (1999), and The Man Who Wasn't There (2001). Arthur was born in Los Angeles County, California, on April 28, 1941. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied theater and film. Arthur began her career in the late 1960s, appearing in a number of television shows, including The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She made her feature film debut in the 1971 film The Last Picture Show. In the 1990s, Arthur began appearing in a number of independent films, including The Big Lebowski, The Limey, and The Man Who Wasn't There. She also appeared in the television series Six Feet Under and The West Wing. Arthur has been married twice, first to actor Robert Foxworth and then to actor/director Peter Horton. She has two children, a son and a daughter. As of 2021, Indus Arthur's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.

She only worked as an actress in Hollywood from about 1964 to 1971. She was perhaps more famous as a professional harpist. After she stopped acting professionally, she played at Renaissance Fairs in California and tapes/CDs of her work were sold. Sadly, she died in 1984 at the age of 43 from skin cancer
